Dr Renate Egan – Director
Innovator, entrepreneur and academic, Renate is passionate about using her skills to increase the uptake of solar and accelerate the energy transition.
Recently described as one of Eight Great Women in the Business of Science and Solar by Renewable Energy World, she has led manufacturing and industrial technology development of energy technologies in Australia, Germany and China
Renate is currently; Co-Founder of Solar Analytics; leads the UNSW activity in the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics and represents Australia on the IEA solar program PVPS.

Rhett Evans – Director
I am involved in Postdoctoral research at UNSW, investigating optimised approaches to metrology in PV manufacturing, with the aim also of improving manufacturing quality through to field deployed quality. I completed a PhD in this research area in 2017.
I have a diverse experience across many aspects of the photovoltaic (PV) industry. In previous roles, I have managed teams of engineers and scientists in a research and manufacturing context, working on R&D through to technology transfer, full commercialisation of new processes and technologies, manufacturing optimisation, field performance testing and monitoring, module technical risk assessment and financial and business modelling. I seek data-and-information-driven solutions to problems where-ever possible.
I am excited to have been working in the photovoltaic industry now for over 20 years, and to watch it grow from a niche technology into the enery source that will define our time.
